| The direct drive system uses a slow rotating motor to drive the plate directly. This system has various advantages. It offers high performance, such as rotation accuracy and powerful torque, requires no replacement of parts and maintains high reliability over a long period of time. On the other hand, the direct drive system is said to create a rotation irregularity called a gear ring. A new coreless direct drive motor has been developed for the SL-1200MK7. This motor uses a coreless stator. By removing the core (iron core) from the stator, the cause of the sprocket has been eliminated. Furthermore, the magnetic force of the rotor magnets has been improved to the highest possible level, and the gap between the coreless stator and rotor magnet has been optimised, achieving a high torque output equivalent to that of the SL-1200MK5. | |
