Police Inspector Anand (Sanjeev Kumar) and Karuna (Sulakshana Pandit) are in love. They meet with the approval of their elders, and are married. Shortly after the marriage, there is a homicide, and the clues point toward Karuna. Anand disbelieves these, but noticing a change in Karuna, starts to actively pursue these clues. The rest of the family, including Anand’s dad, a Judge by profession, side with the daughter-in-law, and Anand is left to pursue this against his family’s wishes.
